The walkway appears as a long green ribbon moving through the landscape. It is designed using simple, repetitive elements and crosses the motorway and the gardens in a gentle, uniform manner. It marks the limits of the different land plots and recreates certain alignments. It is dissymmetrical and offers different views.
It features several stages that are more or less open onto the environment: the lawn, the belvedere, the protected A86 overpass, the wild garden and the playgrounds, the linear descent and the alcoves.
It is a simple 472-meter-long metal structure with a 5.4 meter-wide footway that maintains a uniform thickness throughout. On one of the sides, a wooden trellis fence serves as a visual filter and a wind screen. The framework has a variable density and a horizontal overhang clad in translucent Plexiglas provides a continuous protective canopy. A string of plantations accompanies the walkway and signals its path across the city.
