The programme required a gymnasium with exactly the same dimensions (24 x 44m) as the available plot; the building therefore occupies the entire site. A concrete base supports a semi-cylindrical steel structure covered in a polycarbonate skin that serves as both the façade and the roof. The ground floor contains three parallel concrete walls that define the changing rooms and bathrooms and support the concrete slab of the sports room. On the east side, in an addition to the original programme, a slightly recessed general sports room measuring 24 x 14m has been created, continuing on from the changing rooms. The semi-cylindrical structure is composed of 11 galvanised steel arcs to which the polycarbonate panels of the envelope are fixed. The colour blue was chosen for its ability to limit overheating. The gables are clad in a double skin of stainless steel horizontal strips that are micro-perforated around the entrance hall. A system of opening panels in the two gables ensures natural ventilation of the sports room. Eight custom-made baffles that hang from the structure like oversized chandeliers help to correct the acoustics of the volume and house the lighting apparatus as well.

The building is characterised by its lightness (584 kg/lm2), due to the use of polycarbonate for the entire envelope.
