“Natural” energy savings

So-called “natural” (or passive) systems are used in order to save energy, such as natural ventilation systems and Canadian wells. Verandas and conservatories that enlarge the space are favoured. We strive to avoid air conditioning by developing principles of night-time ventilation, inertia or solar chimneys, for example, to offer comfort in the summertime. We prefer the possibility of opening windows to create a draught as opposed to mechanical cooling systems.

A good building fulfils the initial programme, but will know how to adapt to other uses over time. Its design is as simple as possible so that people can adopt it and make it their own. The spaces are wide and generous with no needless details or decorative effects. They are comfortable without extras: no air conditioning, false floors or false ceilings. They offer quality liveability.
